MODSCAPES_conference2018

Conference Venues

The Conference will take place in Tartu, second largest city of Estonia, and home to the Estonian University of Life Sciences, partner in MODSCAPES and organizer of the conference.

The venues of the conference will be the Assembly Hall at the Eesti Maaülikool (Estonian University of Life Sciences), and the freshly completed Eesti Rahva Muuseum (Estonian National Museum), a pearl of contemporary architecture and landscape architecture: the largest museum of the country, its main collection expands upon Estonian cultural history and everyday life. In 2018, it will also host the Centennial Celebrations of the Republic of Estonia.

Right after the MODSCAPES_2018 conference in Tartu, the Estonian capital city, Tallinn, will host the 5th international meeting of the EAHN – European Architectural History Network at the Estonian National Library, where MODSCAPES researchers (Axel Fisher and Aleksa Korolija) will chair a dedicated session entitled Modernism and Rurality: Mapping the State of Research. Participants wishing to attend both conferences may benefit from special conditions (to be confirmed).
